The world of Art has come across millions of stars of all kind. Dr.V.C.Ganesan is one of the greatest stars ever born in the entertainment world. He practiced art as his attitude. He was the first man to become superstar in his first film 'Parasakthi'. The blistering eye expressions he showed in the fury moods, the boisterous voice by which he had delivered the dialogues in archetypal Tamil, the innocent face lexis he played, a young but energetic structure and freshness in his act, all made him achieve a throne in the viewer's heart. Despite the introductory role he played in the film, he enchanted the people like an actor having hundreds of film experiences. He had totally acted in 288 films in almost five decades during 1952-2001.
Dr.V.C.Ganesan was born in a middle class family at Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, in 1st October, 1928. The initial 'V' in his name stands for Villupuram, where he was born. He started his drama career at the age of 7. He was called as Ganesamoorthy then. When he played the role of the emperor, Sivaji, in the drama named 'Sivaji kanda hindu rajyam' (The Hindu empire established by Sivaji), the supreme Tamil leader periyar E.V.Ramasamy had given him the name Sivaji Ganesan. It was the greatest admiration given to this greatest actor. After his first film entry on 1952, he made lot of hits which let his popularity grew more among the people of Tamil Nadu. In 1959, he created a spectacular remark in the film 'Veerapandiya Kattabomman', for which he was awarded the best actor of Afro - Asia award.
In his life, he got more honors and awards than any other of his kind. He even was appointed as honorary Mayor of Niagara, USA for one day, the only Indian to get this respect after Nehru. He was awarded Chevaliye, the respectful award of France, in 1995. He was the only one to achieve this award in India. He used to be a fabulous human being, who earned a wonderful family and millions of fans. He is symbolized as the encyclopedia of performing arts. The country paid a reverential, rather, a mournful homage to this evergreen actor, when he passed away on 21st of July, 2001. He's still ruling the throne in the hearts of millions of his fans by his childish smile and marvelous face expressions.
